Becky Wolcott: Embroidery Artist

Becky Wolcott’s love for plants started early, growing up with an abundance of them. She spread her love for plants to her family, as well as to others through her many artistic endeavors.

“Every time we would move…we would grow things, and that would make a house a home for us.”

Ever since she moved out to the desert, Becky has always had a fascination with saguaros. Her embroidery art is full of cacti, capturing the unique elements of the plant.

“Even if I park on the side of the road and just look at the difference in the saguaros, there are no two that are even close to being alike.”

Becky hopes to bring joy to people through her artwork by creating pieces that remind people of fond memories and inspire them to reconnect with nature.

“Maybe they just moved here and they've never seen plants like this before, and it's something that kind of brings them back to nature. Hopefully they'll plant something.”
