Wind Haven Flower Farm

Paul and Jennifer Maloney began their farming journey at Paul’s family vegetable farm. Jennifer was immediately drawn to the flowers there, so when Paul’s parents decided they were not going to continue growing flowers, they turned their own property into what is now Wind Haven Flower Farm.

Wind Haven hit a big boom during the pandemic when Jennifer took to Facebook and Instagram telling folks that they were going to sell flowers from their porch.

“Everybody was at home. Everybody wanted to beautify their homes with flowers. They wanted fresh flowers, and they wanted to support local businesses.”

The outpouring of support for Wind Haven during that time actually shifted Paul’s perspective on flowers from something unnecessary to something special that so many people cherish.

“There's a lot more to them and a lot more depth and a lot more meaningful reasons people have them in their homes and it makes you feel different.”

Running a farm is lots of hard work. Paul and Jennifer’s motivation to keep up the labor and keep producing beautiful flowers is the joy that they get from sharing what they’ve grown with others.

“Seeing the beginning and seeing the end result and the smiles that you get and just the pure enjoyment…I have to be able to receive that sort of encouragement and enjoyment from other people to be able to do what I need to do, because it's not always easy.”
