Charline Pritscaloff: Florist

Sometimes you don’t find your calling until later in life, but for Charline Pritscaloff, a passion for floral art came naturally.
She has always been surrounded by flowers because of how much her mother loved gardening. Charline would visit gardens and make bouquets alongside her mother, and eventually moved up to doing more elaborate art.
“In fact, I started when I was around twelve years old. I started with amateaur floral art. I told my parents, actually, I’d like to make this my career.”
Charline’s hard work and dedication to her craft lead her to learning from a teacher who won the Best Craftsman of France competition. This opportunity helped her expand her artistic pursuits, and now, she holds the title as well.
“I told myself…one day, I would like to be the best craftsman in France. But I didn’t tell myself I would be at 28. To me, I saw it as something far away. In the end, it happened rather quickly.”
At the end of the day, Charline’s work is focused wholly on the flowers. Her work not only uses floral arrangements but draws from their natural forms.
“Often, inspiration comes from the plants themselves. Actually, when I prepare for competitions, I envision a flower. I imagine a color, a texture, and from there, I create a whole world, a composition.”
