Portraits: Edgardo Manosalva, Kazumi Garden

Edgardo Manosalva and his family turned a hobby into a blooming business. His mother fell in love with kokedama when visiting Japan, and Edgardo saw how much joy it brought her and wanted to bring that to others.

“I knew at that moment this product was special, that it would bring a lot of joy and peacefulness to every household.”

Practically the entire family has had involvement in growing Kazumi Gardens, from learning the kokedama techniques to coming up with the name and logo. It has been a very special opportunity for Edgardo to be able to work so closely with his family to build a business that they love.

“I think it’s bringing us together, seeing the best part of us. To push for the same goal, the same objective…it’s gonna be with me forever.”
