Not perfect, but this is my favorite film about a designer we have made so far. It feels like a portrait of her, not a review of her work…which we don’t even see…because it’s filmed in the dead of a Saskatoon winter! (I love the mismatched socks.)
#O* before PLANTPOP
Leon made this video about one of our customers. I saw it and said, “I want more! Let’s meet a cool new person every week,” and that’s what led to PlantPop.

This was the first PLANTPOP film. Still worth watching, I think…and it shows our original intent.
#3* Normal?
Cleo thinks he’s an average guy with an average garden. Veering away from PLANTPOP’s interest in “ornamental,” this film still stands out to me as good example of the types of “horticultural hedonists” we want to befriend.
#4* McGuffin
I like the idea of focusing on some character-revealing thing (in this case a Volvo station wagon) and allowing that to illuminate the garden design aspect. The music is too present, and the clients showing up kinda spoil the fun.
