Plants Transformed My Business

The man in this film may never see it, because he does not own a computer or a cell phone. His name is Bill Schlaht and he is the owner of Anderson Wright Rooms and Gardens in Olde Towne Portsmouth, VA. We'd link to his webpage, but (as you might have guessed) he doesn't have one. This video is as close as you can get to experiencing his lovely store without actually going in person.

And it's worth the trip. We visit with Bill in his courtyard garden and he explains how dabbling with plants and landscape decor totally transformed his antique business.

"Unique" is a word often abused (and misused), but there's no other word for Bill Schlaht, the accidental gardener.

Bill told us, "For me and my business, the garden really made all the difference." We can't get those words out of our heads. They haunt us. They inspire us. This is the message that drives us. Yes! Plants do make the difference. And those are the stories we aim to tell.
