Homefield Flower Farm

Imagine a field of beautiful blooms that are lovingly tended to and picked especially for locals and you’ll probably see something like Homefield Flower Farm.

Malissa Levitsky and Simon White of Homefield in Laval, Quebec, grow their flowers sustainably so they last for whatever their customers’ needs are.

“We don’t have a lot of space, so we try to grow flowers that will maximize the space we do have.”

The farmer duo works hard to make sure they don’t leave much of a carbon footprint by figuring out what they truly need and don’t need when it comes to equipment and space.

“We try to stay very practical.”

Flowers are making a difference for the people in their community. Malissa and Simon are aware of the positive impact their bouquets can have on their customers and that’s what drives them to keep going.

Flower-farming is a lot of hard work, but for Malissa and Simon, it is rewarding and it’s something they’ve been wanting to do for a long time. Both were involved in farming growing up and both see the importance of bringing a smile to someone’s face when they need it most. What better way than through a colorful bouquet?

“It is a lot of hard work, but we are living our dream…we’re very fortunate to do what we do…”
