Nicole Young: Interior Plant Designer & Stylist
Houseplants serve many purposes, as decoration or accents in a home, as something we can care for, and as something to connect us.
For Nicole Young, Interior Plant Designer and Stylist, plants are all these things and more.
“I had my first place and I decorated it with plants because that is what I believed decór was. From there I just started having more and more and more until I had two houseboats filled with houseplants.”
One of the things that is unique about Nicole is where she keeps her plants. Her collection of over 100 houseplants lives on the water.
The houseboat, named The Lois Elaine after her late grandmother, is a place for people to gather. Originally used as a floating bed & breakfast, The Lois Elaine and the houseplants are currently used for photography sessions and also as a place of respite.
After growing her collection and realizing the potential for helping others decorate their spaces and their lives with plants, Nicole recognizes her own deep connection to her plants.
“Plants for me, they really mean family. Like they’re always connected to these memories of family and different times that we share…”
