Becky Sulton: Interior Plant Stylist

Houseplants can be used to add something extra to a home or office, but sometimes it’s difficult to find just the right plant for the right place.

That’s where Becky Sulton, Plant Consultant and Interior Plant Stylist, comes in.

Becky’s passion is for creating the interiors of her clients’ dreams and she often uses plants to enhance.

“To me, plants just make it all better.”

While Becky’s background is in social work, she says the way she comes into people’s homes to find out exactly what they need is much like what she’s always done just in a different way.

“I’ve always worked in psychiatric hospitals…I kind of compare my experience with what does the client need? What’s going to make their life better?”

Some houseplants are great as statement pieces, but Becky finds many houseplants are useful for making a space seem more lived-in and more like a home for her clients. Her design recommendations are based on the client’s personality, but she also takes into consideration their level of giving plant care.

Her clients may not begin as houseplant collectors, but she’s found that most of her clients fall in love with the plants they have and begin adding to their collection.

“Once you have one, you have to get more. I think that just shows how much power the plants bring, the different life they can bring into your home…”
