FLO Botanical Atelier

The story of FLO can be described in one word: romantic. 

Carol and Antonio’s inspiration for starting FLO came from the flower shops in Paris that they visited on their honeymoon. These flower shops opened up a new world of floral design - making way for much more than just traditional rose bouquets. 

On this same trip, the two collected rocks from the beach, which inspired Antonio to learn how to make terrariums to house them. 

“I told her: what about I learn how to make these terrariums so I can use the rocks, it’s a beautiful memory…”

They gave those terrariums away as gifts, and this lit a spark in both of them. They both love the way that working with plants gives them opportunities to flex their creativity, as well as challenging it. 

“If there’s a flower tilted to the left and you want it to the right, that’s not gonna happen. You will have to find a solution, right there.” 

The connection between people and plants is a core philosophy of Carol and Antonio’s work. They see the effects of it in their own lives and strive to bring that joy to others. 

“This is a live being that brings you joy…when you’re in this therapeutic atmosphere taking care of a plant, in the end you’re taking care of yourself too.”
