Manny's Daughters Garden of Joy

Nothing is more important than family. Jeimy and Brenda Gil know this well, as they’ve worked together to continue their father’s plant loving legacy.

After their father Manny retired after almost two decades at his nursery, the two sisters decided to open a plant shop inspired by his life’s work. Manny’s Daughters Garden of Joy was born.

“He opened up with nothing…He had an umbrella and a few plants on his hands. I think that watching him turn what he had, small into something big, was my biggest inspiration.”

One of the biggest things that drew Jeimy to plants was how similar they are to people. When she realized how much care they needed, she felt a connection to them.

“It's so much like ourselves. If we're in the wrong environment, if we don't pour into ourselves, and we don't prune. We don't grow.”

Jeimy and Brenda want to build off of the strong foundation that their father gave them. To them, the legacy isn’t just about the plants. It’s about how their customers feel about their experience.

“That seed that was planted in them is what they're always going to remember. The plant might die, right? But that, that memory? It’s never going to fade.”
