FIELDTRIP: Jardin des Plantes, Greenhouses

For centuries, the Jardin des Plantes has been a staple of Paris, and the greenhouses are part of what make the landmark so special. The gardens feature four greenhouses, all with unique climates to showcase a vast range of biodiversity.

From the tropical greenhouse to the desert greenhouse, there’s something for every kind of plant lover. They even feature an entire house dedicated to the history of plant evolution, displaying the modern equivalent to ancient species. Their goal is to preserve all plant diversity, because there is “no human life without flora.”
