Stephanie Marx: The Flower Craft Shop

Stephanie Marx: The Flower Craft Shop

Flowers have a great deal of meaning behind them. Many people can see certain flowers and be reminded of a particular memory or another person connected with that bloom.

While real flowers may wither and eventually die, there is a way to preserve the memory and still have something visually beautiful to hold on to. It’s exactly this sentiment that drives Paper Flower Artist Stephanie Marx to create her gorgeous artwork.

Stephanie admits that flowers weren’t on her radar until a little later in life because she grew up in a desert where florals are more scarce, but since she started The Flower Craft Shop on Etsy she’s grown to appreciate the flowers around her.

“Now, every time I go anywhere I am fully aware of all the little details of flowers that are around me…”

Making the flower bouquets is a tedious and time-consuming process, but this isn’t just a business for Stephanie.

“I just found so much joy in the creative process of making the flowers…and I was doing it for myself…just being in my own space and creating something that I thought was beautiful and other people were starting to think were beautiful…and now it’s a business.”

Helping to create lasting memories for people wasn’t what she originally set out to do, but she’s grown to love being able to provide those connections for people. She also hopes that the people who see her work would develop an appreciation for what these flowers can bring to their homes and lives.

“I want [people] to see flowers as art.”
