Briana Robinson: Botanical Tattoo Artist

Briana Robinson: Botanical Tattoo Artist

Art has always been a part of Briana Robinson’s life. Tattoos, not so much.

Briana graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design with a degree in Illustration, but along the way had friends request designs from her, but not just for wall decoration.

“I had a lot of friends who wanted me to draw for them, draw tattoos for them, and I’m very squeamish…so I would just go with them and watch them get tattooed.”

When she decided that tattoo artistry was her path, during her apprenticeship she was encouraged to get one tattoo so her clients would trust her, and that one tattoo led to many others.

While artistry has always been a part of her story, plants have also played a huge role and her mom was a big influence.

“I’ve always loved plants and flowers…my mom has the most beautiful garden.”

Rather than working off of photos, she likes to use the real deal.

“I love the look of a fresh-picked flower…you can really see the color as opposed to a dried flower that’s kind of muted.”

She has a passion for what she does and is specifically drawn to botanically-themed tattoos as opposed to some of the other common things people get on their skin.

“I think flowers are timeless…flowers never get old, they’re always beautiful.”
