Cara Jackson: Artist and Graphic Designer
There is an intrinsic beauty to nature that draws in people from all walks of life, especially artists that strive to capture it to share with others. Cara Jackson’s love for both art and plants started from her childhood.
“I've been painting and drawing since I was a child, and I grew up next to acres of woods, lots of giant trees, wonderful to walk in the woods.”
Although Cara didn’t grow up around desert plants, they caught her eye on one faithful visit to New Mexico with her mother. These memories stuck with Cara and still inspires her current work - especially now that she has the Texas environment to be her muse.
“I was really inspired by the saguaro cacti and just the desert landscape. It was so different from my home in North Carolina. And I guess I always kind of had this romantic idea about it. The, like, red sunsets, the dirt and the cactus flowers.”
Cara wants to capture the entire spectrum of plants that live in the desert, showing off how vibrant they can be and spreading happiness through her work.
“I'm trying to share the joy of the experience through the bright colors and the imagery and creating something that makes people feel good and that they can bring into their own lives.”
