Hannah Lemon: Miniature Artist
Every detail matters.
All artists know this, and it’s especially true when you’re trying to bring that sense of realism to a piece. Artist Hannah Lemon strives to capture every little detail in the miniatures she makes.
During lockdown, Hannah’s fascination with houseplants grew. No matter what was going on in her life, they all continued to bloom or wilt or change regardless, and she found this comforting.
“They just have their own world, don't care about what's happening in the human world.”
She makes the effort to capture every tiny detail of the plants she recreates - including any browning or wilted leaves.
“I tried to recreate that imperfection into my art as well.”
Hannah believes that plants can teach us valuable lessons - like that there is beauty in failure because it helps us appreciate our successes even more.
“I suggest people do get houseplants, and I hope they struggle because not everything is there for you.”
