Rosey: Biophilic Designer
Some people just thrive most around nature. Rosey is one of those people. Even as a child, she found an escape through nature, exploring the Everglades with her brother.
“We'd create our own world. We would imagine a different life, we would climb to the top of the highest tree and draw up there.”
One of the things that Rosey is most proud of is being one of the first women in South Florida to break into this biophilic design space, specifically with green walls. This has led her to becoming part of a community of women in the industry who are just as passionate as she is.
“A lot of them are moms, a lot of them are very busy. And still we have that one thing in common which is earth, our plants and we really, really love it.”
Through the times when Rosey was thriving in her field, she was struggling more in her personal life. Even then, she found peace and purpose through her plants.
“I know that I needed to take care of these things. They were living and breathing and in turn they would take care of me.”
Rosey takes pride in the fact that she’s started a strong legacy of cultivators. Her five year old has already started telling people all he knows about plants. She wants to be remembered for all the work she’s done to help teach the next generation.
“I want when you think about plants, to think about Rosey.”
