Jungle Cat Plant Shop

City living makes it hard for people to curate their own green spaces. With no yards for apartment dwellers, one of the best ways for them to get in touch with nature is by collecting houseplants.

When Laurie started Jungle Cat Plant Shop, connecting people to nature again was part of her goal.

“I think that was kind of the idea…kind of bringing the outdoors inside in a way.”

It seems as though the locals were just itching for a plant shop to pop up, because the response Laurie got when they first opened was immediate and enthusiastic.

“Everyone's been so welcoming here and the community has really embraced it and been super supportive.”

She takes a lot of time and care when picking out the plants for the shop from a local wholesale nursery, wanting each and every selection to be the best quality it can be.

“I have pretty high expectations. So if I personally won’t buy it, then I really don't want to sell it to people.”

Laurie loves collaborating with other local businesses, using the shop as a way to connect the community in a positive way.

“I just wanted to find a way to kind of merge plants in the community together because it's just a nice way to connect with people that are local.”
