Sarah Simon: @themintgardener
There’s nothing quite like getting your hands in the dirt. Well, except maybe to Sarah Simon. She finds the same pure satisfaction that she gets from working in her garden that she does creating art.
The natural way that her garden blooms and grows inspires how she wants to treat her art as well.
“I don't mind if bricks are a bit crooked or the mint has gone wild. I wanted my art to go wild.”
Sarah gets a lot out of her love of gardening, from her Instagram handle, @themintgardener, to life lessons.
“In life, you can choose to focus on the weeds or you can choose to focus on the new spring and the growth.”
She has been able to teach watercolor classes at her local arts and crafts store, where she provides people the linework for florals and all they have to do is add the watercolors. She finds this is a great way to not only help people who might be intimidated by becoming artists, but also brings passions together beautifully.
“It's been probably one of the greatest joys of combining plants and art and teaching and community all together.”
