Meredith Moyer: Film Photographer

Many artists have a deep connection with plants, and Meredith conveys hers through her photography. Part of what draws her to nature is the way that she finds her personal growth reflected in the life cycle of plants. 

“I just have to let myself be, let myself grow, and I get to explore that along the way. I get to discover myself and see myself flourish the same way you get to watch a plant flourish.”

Not only does Meredith find integrating plants into her life necessary for her work, but also for her family. Through her journey of motherhood, she’s found that her connection with nature has grown even more important. 

“It feels necessary to be around nature, especially when raising a child. It feels necessary to have other living beings near me while teaching someone how to be in the world, whether that be humans or plants or animals.”

Both people and plants are ever changing, and Meredith finds herself influenced by the way the natural world blossoms around her. 

“What's so beautiful about being out in nature or around other people, is things just move on their own. There is constant energy being shifted, which energizes me to shift and change and grow and evolve.”
