Tammy Myers: LORA Bloom

Since she was young helping her mother decorate the house with flowers from the garden, Tammy Myers has had a love for plants. After going back to school for marketing, she decided to apply her newly learned skills to starting a small business that could highlight that passion for flowers.

“Started working right out of my kitchen, and then it just grew from there. And I became more and more ingrained in it within the floral community here in Seattle. And I just kind of fell in love with it. And so eventually that's how LORA Bloom came to life.”

Tammy noticed a big difference when she shifted from her corporate job to working within the floral community in Seattle. Like many, she struggles with burnout. But, as she started visiting the flower markets more and more, she found reprieve.

“What I've learned is that it's often the flowers that are actually what center me and ground me…I've realized that they almost have saved me in a sense, and they keep me sane.”

For Tammy, it’s not as much about the business as it is the flowers and the joy they provide. She finds herself invested in each and every story she hears about the arrangements she’s preparing, and that motivates her to make every one of them as perfect as they can be.

“They have their own story about why they're doing this. And so, I always get caught up in it. And then...I want to help them more.”
