Native Poppy
Natalie was working in H.R., scrolling through Pinterest and design blogs, when she saw a floral arrangement that gave her a light bulb moment. Seeing what others were able to do with flowers inspired Natalie to quit and chase after this new-found dream.
Before she learned about the wholesale market, Natalie had to be more resourceful with how she gathered flowers for Native Poppy.
“We didn't have any money. I would go around my neighborhood, and I would forage things. I’d take a little vine from an alleyway and like a succulent and roses from the Safeway parking lot and…”
Native Poppy’s mission is “sharing love through the power of flowers.”
They chose to focus on this idea of sharing love rather than something like joy or happiness because flowers make their way into our lives at low points, as well as high points. They wanted to highlight a meaning beyond simply the positives.
“Flowers come into your life in these extremely joyous and extremely hard occasions. And so ultimately it's about love. And that's why it's sharing love through the power of flowers.”
