Marta Maria: Horticulture Marketing

Marta Maria grew up in Puerto Rico, always surrounded by lush tropical plants. Her father was a “plants man” and always valued taking their family out in nature as much as possible. 

“My dad always, whenever we would travel to different places, he would take time and he was always teaching us about the different names of the plants.”

Marta’s father planted fruit trees that flourished - except one never produced any fruit. When he passed, she would visit the fruit trees that he planted to be reminded of him, and one day she noticed something that made her stop in her tracks. 

“Two weeks after he passed away, it gave me the first fruit…that just gave me a sign that he was there. And he's always with me every day.”

This experience gave Marta a special view on plants. She has seen first hand how much value they contribute to people’s memories and legacies, and she strives to show others how impactful plants can be. 

“We are not only providing beauty, we're providing people with memories.”
