Natasha Tomchin: Visual Artist
Natasha Tomchin is the type of person to find patterns in everything. It comes from having a background in coding through her work, and transformed the way she sees the world. She started out making art with cloud patterns and eventually discovered a similar interest in plants.
“I don't know how not to think about nature and how not to obsess about it.”
When she started getting deeper into the plant world, she found herself learning a lot of the same things that she learned through her art career, like learning to trust the process.
“I think cultivating the plants has also taught me how to cultivate myself.”
Natasha strives to make her installations unique experiences. She goes the extra mile by adding soundscapes and housing her work at botanical gardens to give people that sense of being in nature that a traditional art gallery just doesn’t have.
“I'm trying to recreate this hypnotic sense that I feel in nature for people with my art.”
A film by Jacopo Fantastichini.
