Nina's Window

Nina's Window
Nature has always been a part of artist Nina Robinson's life. Before her diagnosis of multiple sclerosis, she was always out hiking or biking with her husband. But even with limited mobility, she still finds a way to be outside with the flowers.

A diagnosis can be exactly the kind of inspiration needed to try something new.

Before multiple sclerosis, Nina Robinson loved to be active. Her and her husband would often go hiking, biking, or walking around the San Diego area where they are from.

After the diagnosis, she didn’t know what to do.

“I think what scared me wasn’t so much not being mobile, but what am I going to do. I started asking the Lord, I’m going to need something because I don’t see myself just sitting there.”

Sometime during her questioning, a friend of hers suggested Nina start painting. Her friend even bought her the supplies to get her started. Nina laughed and put the canvas and paints away imagining she would never be interested in something like that.

“One day I just got up and I had this desire to paint…it was never on the radar for me.”

Nature is a huge influence on her choice of using vibrant color in all her artworks, but an even greater inspiration is the Creator. Nina’s unwavering faith through the trials is evident in her paintings and the name of her Etsy shop.

“God closes a door, He opens a window…my artwork, that’s my window!”
