The First Annual PlantPop Film Awards 2019
Thank you to everyone who made it out to our PlantPop Film Awards!
We are excited to announce the winners based on our independent judges’ scores, but first, wanted to introduce our judges:
1. Brie Arthur - author and horticulturist in Raleigh, North Carolina. She was one of PlantPop's first stories. Since she is in the horticulture business, she was the perfect person to judge the plant aspects of all of our films.
2. Thomas Piper - an award-winning non-fiction filmmaker, with a focus on design and contemporary art. He is the filmmaker responsible for the documentary Five Seasons: The Gardens of Piet Oudolf. His perspective on filmmaking was incredibly refreshing and helpful for us. We are incredibly excited that he said yes to being a judge.
3. Leon Guanzon - videographer, photographer, and graphic designer from Norfolk, Virginia. PlantPop is Leon's baby. He saw the vision. He did all the work. He poured his heart and soul into it all. He is our original filmmaker and will be a part of the family for life.
Here are the results compiled from our independent judges' scores:
